Original Works Inspired by Land, Water & the Spaces Between
The Artist
behind the brush
For Janet, art has never been a chapter—it has been a constant.
Born in Virginia, she began creating at an early age and was already exhibiting and selling her work at professional art shows while still in high school. Over the years, that early creative instinct has evolved into a lifelong practice of observing and interpreting the world around her.
Working across watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic, and Prismacolor, Janet chooses her medium in response to the subject. Her work moves between landscapes, coastal scenes, abstraction, and contemplative studies, with color, texture, memory, and intuition providing a thread between them.
A lifelong lover of the coast and an avid traveler, she continues to draw inspiration from the places and details that hold her attention. These days, she spends much of her time gardening, traveling, and exploring alongside her art-loving granddaughter—collecting new landscapes, experiences, and moments of inspiration along the way.
Her evolving body of work is, in many ways, a visual journal of a life spent looking closely.
